Its name is the combination of croissant + waffle, and its taste... simply addictive. What exactly is the recipe? Very easy: we take a croissant, open it and fill it with something delicious; in this case, fig jam and goat cheese. Then, we cook it in a waffle iron until it is very crispy and the cheese is very melted. For the final touch, we add Iberian ham or prosciutto, arugula and a little fresh basil. The best part? You don't need complicated techniques or strange utensils. If you don't have a waffle iron, don't worry, a traditional sandwich maker or a toaster will give you the same result. Perfect for a different breakfast, a quick dinner or that brunch with the desire to impress without complicating your life. So now you know, if you have a croissant that has become hard, remember this recipe. Ridiculously easy. Deliciously different. And ready in less time than it takes your mother to ask you what a croffle is.
Ingredients
- 1 croissant
- 3 teaspoons of fig jam
- 1.7 oz of goat cheese in roll (about 4 slices)
- 3 slices of Iberian ham or prosciutto
- a handful of arugula
- some basil leaves

- waffle iron (sandwich maker or plate toaster)
- baking paper
- oil spray (optional)
Preparation

Preheat the waffle iron and place a piece of baking paper on the base. Cut the croissant in half, place it on the paper and spread the jam. We use about 3 teaspoons per croissant.

Add the cheese of your choice on top of the jam. * We made two: one with goat cheese and one with brie cheese, you can put your favourite cheese.

Close the croissant. Put a little oil spray on the top plate of the waffle iron.

Cook in the waffle iron for 5-6 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
