Super popular mom-and-pop wings restaurant is expanding in metro Phoenix
What do you get when you cross a food truck, a viral strawberry hot wing and a chef with Gordon Ramsay plating dreams? You get Ace of Wingz, perhaps the most eccentric and beloved wing joint in Phoenix.
What started as a social media post has turned into a full-blown phenomenon, thanks to chef Abion Acoy’s knack for turning deep-fried chicken into gourmet art. From elote-topped drumettes to raspberry hot wings, no flavor combination is too wild and that’s exactly why people can’t get enough.

Ace of Wingz plans to open a second Phoenix location in July 2025.
Customer demand is so spicy that Ace of Wingz is opening a second location this July. Flats or drums, one thing’s for sure: These wings don’t play by the rules, and Phoenix is here for it.
Here's what to know about Ace of Wingz.
Who owns Ace of wings?
Chef and entrepreneur Abion Acoy owns Ace of Wingz. He founded the business in 2021, initially operating from a food truck before expanding to a brick-and-mortar location.
Ace of Wingz locations
The original Ace of Wingz location is at 8052 N. 19th Ave., Phoenix.
Its second location is expected to open on July 4 at 3923 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix. Ace of Wingz is planning a grand opening celebration for 2 p.m.-2 a.m.
What makes the Ace of wings unique?
Ace of Wingz is known for its inventive wing flavors, especially its signature Strawberry Hot Wings, which helped catapult the brand to local fame.
What started as a playful experiment turned into a viral sensation when Acoy garnished the sweet-and-spicy wings and posted them on social media. The response was overwhelming.
Ace of Wingz grew from a food truck into a brick-and-mortar spot on 19th Avenue thanks to word-of-mouth and creative wing flavors. When TikTok food critic Keith Lee visited after a fan vote, his review — despite having mixed feelings — sparked major attention, racking up over 137,000 views and trending the restaurant for two weeks.
