New surf park set to open in metro Phoenix. Here's when and where to ride
A new "family-friendly oasis" in the form of a 12-acre adventure park named Pecan Lake opened in Queen Creek in January 2024. Now it's getting ready to reveal a big expansion.
“We call it the Surf-X for the surfing experience. But what we wanted to do was create an experience," Check told ABC15.
"So obviously, we've got the (surfing), which is fun in itself, but we wanted to have the ability to order drinks, order a pizza, wings, you know, from our Your Pie Restaurant that'll be here, and then upstairs, we have a deck, and we got TVs. We'll have couches, misting fans."

What is Pecan Lake Entertainment in Queen Creek?
The 12-acre Pecan Lake Entertainment park at 25002 S. 206th St. in Queen Creek has electric karting, a ropes obstacle course, an arcade, mini golf, ax-throwing, virtual reality games and escape rooms.
Gel blasters, laser tag and the surf experience will be coming soon.
Are there places to eat at Pecan Lake Entertainment?
Yes, Pecan Lake Entertainment has several dining options.
- Hideout 206: Craft sodas, local microbrews, wine and hand-held snacks.
- Skytime Creamery: Fourteen flavors of Hershey's ice cream, from Campfire Cookie to Strawberry Sundae Crunch.
- Your Pie: Pizzas with hand-tossed dough and a family marinara recipe. Plus, brews and gelato.
- Caldwell County BBQ: Texas meat market style barbeque with nods to Arizona like citrus and green chiles. The beef brisket is slow cooked for 20 hours.
Pecan Lake Entertainment prices
Pecan Lake Entertainment is a choose-your-own-adventure outing. Each activity has separate prices.
- Go Kart Race: $22 per race plus $8 for a passenger.
- Ropes Course: $25 for 60 minutes (open 6-10 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays).
- SkyTykes Ropes Course: $12 for 60 minutes (open 6-10 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays).
- 21-Hole Putting Course: $15, $8 for children.
- Ax Throwing: $20 for 60 minutes, $15 for 30 minutes.
- Escape Rooms: One-hour options are $34 each; the 10-minute Space Racer is $10.
- Virtual Reality: $15 for 30 minutes.

Pecan Lake entertainment is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Fridays-Sundays.
