How Princess Charlotte Is Kate Middleton’s “Mini-Me”
Mother and daughter especially bond over their love of a certain hobby.

- The close bond between Kate Middleton and her only daughter Princess Charlotte was on display on May 5 as the two attended a VE Day commemoration alongside Prince William, Prince George, and Prince Louis.
- Charlotte, who just turned 10 on May 2, has been described as the Princess of Wales’ “mini-me.”
- The two particularly share a love of this activity, those who know them shared.
Just three days after she turned the milestone age of 10 years old, Princess Charlotte stepped out with her brothers Prince George and Prince Louis for a surprise appearance at VE Day commemorations on May 5, paying tribute to veterans of World War II.
Charlotte and her mother, Kate Middleton, had a number of sweet interactions throughout the day, and a palace source speaking to People for the outlet’s May 6 cover story says that, when it comes to her mom the Princess of Wales, Charlotte is “a bit of a mini-me.”

One area the two are very much alike in? “She’s clearly sporty like her mother,” the source added, with People reporting that Charlotte loves ballet, tap, rugby, and soccer, where she is known for her “grace and sportsmanship—often seen congratulating players on the opposing team,” according to the outlet.

But the Princess of Wales isn’t the only royal that Charlotte mirrors, royal biographer Robert Hardman said: “You can definitely see traits of her great-grandmother,” Hardman told People, referring to the late Queen Elizabeth, who died on September 8, 2022 at 96 years old. “The practical common sense—not camera-grabbing, but solid and responsible.”
Like Her late Majesty before her, Charlotte is “a natural and has taken to royal events like a duck to water,” a source told the publication.

“She is quite a strong character,” a source continued, calling Charlotte “almost wise beyond her years.”
