It's Officially 'Bob Girl Summer' on TikTok: See the Transformations
First, there was "feral girl summer." Then, there was “brat summer.” Now, it's time for “bob girl summer.”
A new internet trend where users reveal their short haircut before and afters, nicknamed "bob girl summer," is inspiring viewers to rush to the salon to make the chop.
TikTok user @lexx.wamsley participated in the bob girl summer trend when she impulsively decided to snip her long hair right below her ear. Her vlog of the experience, which she first shared on June 13, has since garnered over 32,000 views on TikTok.

Caroline Smith, a hair stylist at Deep Roots ATX Salon in Austin, Texas, says she's recently noticed more customers trade their long locks for the playful, short look.
“The thing right now is chopping off all your hair,” Smith tells TODAY.com. “It’s summertime … Everyone wants to do it.”
Libby Brenner, a hair stylist and curly hair specialist at North & Ivy in Wooster, Ohio, shares with TODAY.com that she has “100%” seen the bob girl summer trend happening in her chair this year.
“Sometimes the dynamic can be a little bit different between straight hair and curly hair (and) what’s trending,” Brenner said. “What’s crazy? It’s like bobs across the board.”
Smith says there are several reasons why so many people are going “back to the bob," from wanting to garner attention on the internet to prepping for the warm summer months.
However, she largely attributes the recent spike in the short hairstyle's popularity to the increasing number of celebrities sporting the cut.
"It has to do a lot with influence," Smith said. "You see your favorite celebrity get it, obviously, you are going to want it."
Leslie Bibb has been largely associated with the bob cut since her signature “White Lotus” hairstyle went viral earlier this year. Celebrity hair stylist Chris McMillan, who is behind Bibb's TV look, has received more than 4 million views on his Instagram video showing part of her transformation.
Bibb continued to rock her trademark hairdo as she guest co-hosted the June 16 episode of TODAY with Jenna & Friends, and she inspired Jenna Bush Hager to commit to chopping her hair on the morning show.
The internet went crazy for Jenna's cute cut, with fans expressing love for her new hairstyle on an Instagram post of the reveal.
“This look for you Jenna is so perfect for you!! I love it,” one fan commented.

Stars like Sofia Richie Grainge, Julianne Moore and Pamela Anderson have also embraced the short hair lifestyle over the past few months, surprising fans with their transformations.
Brenner said her customers often find that the results of a drastic haircut, like a short bob, are even better than they initially expected.
“More times than not, though, my clients are surprised that their hair does act exactly how they wanted it to,” Brenner said.
She added that a fresh haircut can help you “have fun” and let “your personality shine.”
“Life is too short to always have the same hair,” Brenner said. “So, if you’re on the fence, go for it."
