Kate Middleton Sports a New Blonde Hairstyle as She Attends Church in Scotland

Kate Middleton and Prince William have arrived in Scotland with their three children for the royal family’s annual summer vacation in the Highlands. The Wales family was seen driving to church services at Crathie Kirk, the parish church long attended by the royals when staying at Balmoral Castle, on Sunday.

Sunday marked the first time the Princess of Wales had been seen in public in more than a month.

Photos showed William driving a Range Rover with Kate, sporting what appeared to be a new blonder hue, in the front seat while Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were in the back seats. The Scotland visit comes ahead of a new school year as well as the family's planned move to a new residence, Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park, expected before the end of 2025. Sunday also marked the first public appearance for the Princess of Wales in over a month since she attended the men’s final at Wimbledon on July 13.

Kate appeared to be sporting a much lighter hair color.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay when in Scotland, joined several other senior royals on Sunday, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, Princess Anne and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, and Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.

King Charles arrived at Balmoral Castle last week. The British royal family has been traveling up to Balmoral, nestled in the heart of the Scottish Highlands since 1852, when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert acquired the Aberdeenshire estate.

Princess Anne recently celebrated her 75th birthday.

Queen Elizabeth would often spend weeks at Balmoral Castle, and it was where she spent her final days before she passed away in September 2022. Last summer, Charles followed his late mother’s tradition, but didn’t spend as long at Balmoral. Instead, he started August at Castle of Mey in the Scottish county of Caithness, arriving at Balmoral on August 21.
