Princess Beatrice Takes a Cue From Princess Diana in Pink Gingham
For the first day of the annual horse racing event, the royal family member channeled her inner Barbie in a gingham set dyed in a bright bubblegum pink.

The ensemble consisted of a belted jacket with puffy bishop sleeves and large buttons dotting the center, which she paired with a matching midi skirt in the same pattern.

Beatrice was seen alongside her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
Of course, dressing for the Royal Ascot is never complete without a statement-making hat, and Beatrice coordinated with her set by adding a blush-colored fascinator with swirly bows decorating the top. And to complete the fit, she slipped on a pair of nude heels with white toes and she carried a mini white top-handle bag from Anya Hindmarch.

Beatrice completed her look with an intricate fascinator.
Perhaps the strongest inspiration for the look was the late Princess Diana, who famously donned pink gingham pants in a series of photos with her son, Prince Harry. Meanwhile, she also wore a pink check set to a service at St Paul’s Cathedral in 1990—one which bears a strong resemblance to Beatrice’s latest look.

Pink was a frequent color in Princess Diana’s wardrobe.
When it comes to the Royal Ascot, Princess Beatrice always steals the show, and often in pink. Last year, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson opted for a floral Zimmermann midi dress and a puffy pink headband, which she paired with a pale pink clutch and matching pumps from Roger Vivier. The year prior, she chose a pink-and-green flower-printed gown with a different hot pink piece of headwear. It’s nice to see her keeping up the colorful tradition.
