Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition to launch on Apple Silicon Macs on 17th July
When talking about Apple’s Mac computers, you won’t immediately think of gaming, right? Well, apparently, that’s no longer true, and here’s one of the latest examples. CD Projekt Red has announced that it’s launching Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Apple Silicon-powered Mac computers tomorrow (17th July).
Cyberpunk 2077 is optimised for Apple Silicon with native Metal API support

To ensure a smooth gaming experience, CD Projekt Red has optimised Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for Apple Silicon chips. The game supports upscaling algorithms, such as Apple’s own MetalFX, and AMD FSR, including FSR frame generation, all of which have been optimised for Apple’s computer chipsets, allowing you to play smoothly at up to 120fps using the game’s Ultra settings.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is also calibrated for Apple GPUs by using Apple’s Tile-Based Deferred Rendering (TBDR) architecture nd native Metal API support. It takes advantage of Metal’s C++ interface and the Metal Shader Converter to streamline the rendering pipeline, reducing CPU load and memory usage.

In addition to the above, Apple’s Metal 4 graphics API, introduced at WWDC 2025, will be supported in Cyberpunk 2077 through a future update, bringing advanced features like MetalFX Frame Interpolation and MetalFX Denoising for improved performance and visual fidelity.

There’s also support for HDR on Apple XDR displays and calibrated external displays, along with Spatial Audio. In fact, if you play the game on your Mac with your AirPods paired to it, you can enjoy Head Tracked Spatial Audio.
All of these enhancements are said to deliver smooth performance, sharp visuals, seamless gameplay, and amazing battery life.
Here’s what you need for your Apple Silicon Mac to run Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition

To run Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on your Apple Silicon-powered Mac, it needs to have at least 16GB of unified memory and run on macOS 15.5 or later.
This includes Macs running on Apple’s M1 chip, to the recent M3 and M4-powered models, such as the new iMac, MacBook Air, Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, and Mac Studio with M3 Ultra.
