Hailey Bieber Makes Rare Comments About Her Marriage to Justin: “It’s a Crazy Life”
Reading “falsehoods” about herself and her marriage, especially while postpartum, is “something that really drives you crazy,” she said.
Hailey Bieber said in a new interview with Vogue Italia that her marriage to Justin Bieber is a “crazy life”—and that navigating persistent and constant divorce rumors, particularly when she was postpartum after the birth of their son, was “very difficult.”
“I have a real life,” the model and Rhode founder told the publication in an interview published on July 23. “It’s the one I share with my wonderful family, with my friends, with the people who know me and love me.”
The Biebers’ son Jack Blues was born in August 2024, and Hailey told Vogue Italia that the time period after she gave birth was “the most delicate period I’ve ever been through in my life.”
“And having to do all this while constantly reading falsehoods on the internet like, ‘They’re getting divorced’ or ‘They’re no longer happy together’ is something that really drives you crazy,” she added. “I’m not even sure I can explain it. It’s a crazy life.”
Hailey clarified that—perhaps not surprisingly—most of what’s written about her online “isn’t true.” Speaking to Vogue in a cover story published in May, Hailey again defended her marriage to Justin, saying that she expected the hate towards them to dissipate following her pregnancy.
Following her marriage to Justin in 2018, “Well, I thought seven years in it would’ve [stopped] already, and it hasn’t,” she said after being asked if she thought the internet buzz about her marriage would eventually end. “You would think after having a child, people would maybe move on, chill out a little bit, but no.”
“So I guess these bitches are going to be mad,” she added.
In that same interview, Hailey said she’s “learned so much from Justin” about dealing with criticism: “He’s been doing this literally since he was a child, and he has had to face the most scrutiny of any person that I know,” Hailey told Vogue. “He was like, ‘Baby, trust me, I’ve been here before many, many times. You’re not going to win. There is no winning.’” (For his part, Justin said in that same interview that “I’ve done a lot of dumb things in my life, but the smartest thing I’ve ever done was marry Hailey.”)
On July 11, Justin released his album Swag—his first solo album in over four years. “Hailey supported Justin to follow his artistic instincts,” a source speaking to People said. “She helped him to trust himself and do what Justin knew he wanted to do as an artist.”
“Hailey was by Justin’s side for the whole creation of the album,” the insider added. “Everyone knows Justin as a star and a performer. They now get to know the artist that Hailey has known all these years.”
Ahead of Swag’s release earlier this month, a source told Us Weekly that, no matter what comes their way, Hailey and Justin “believe they are soulmates and meant for each other. They’ll do anything to make it work.”
Speaking to Vogue in May, Hailey continued to grapple with how her life and their life together is perceived in the public eye, telling the magazine, “I feel like I’ve fought so hard to try to get people to understand me, or know who I am, or see me for me. And people just don’t want to sometimes.”
