Princess Eugenie just offered curious fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at her family of four with a handful of photos shared in celebration of her son Ernest's birthday. The royal, who is the daughter of King Charles's disgraced younger brother, Prince Andrew, included a sweet tribute to the toddler in her caption.
"Happy Birthday my darling Ernie," she wrote in her Instagram caption. "2 today! And what an incredible two years it's been. Always smiling, always laughing, always giving hugs and hello's and making everyone happy. My golden boy, we love you! 🥰"

The carousel of images featured ten total snapshots of Ernie's royal life two years in, including five with his older brother August. In classic toddler fashion, the duo politely hold hands in one photo and are seen playing in the dirt the next.

Princess Eugenie welcomed Ernest with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, on May 30, 2023. He is currently 13th in line to the British throne. Buckingham Palace announced his arrival the following week with an official statement. The Princess also shared the news on her personal Instagram.
"He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald," she wrote. "Augie is loving being a big brother already."
Eugenie's firstborn, August, was born on February 9, 2021. Though the Princess is not a full-time working royal, she frequently appears at events alongside her sister, Beatrice. The pair have been a source of support for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, so much so that Eugenie has considered spending Christmas with them in the past.
Maintaining her friendship with Harry and Meghan has, however, put Eugenie in a "precarious position" with the rest of the royal family.
"Eugenie is in a difficult spot because she's always been close to Harry, but she is extremely mindful that this relationship could rock the boat with the rest of her family," a source told The Express. "It's a rather precarious position for her to be in and one that requires a delicate balancing act."
