All About Dua Lipa’s One-of-a-Kind Engagement Ring (and How It's Sparking a Major Bridal Trend)
She wore her round-cut diamond and thick gold band for months before confirming the engagement.

The Gist
- Dua Lipa confirmed her engagement with Callum Turner in a June 2025 British Vogue story.
- Turner customized the engagement ring with the help of Lipa’s sister, Rina, as well as her close friends.
- It features an estimated 2-carat round-cut diamond on an 18k yellow gold band that measures approximately 5mm wide.
After months of subtle teasing, whispered speculation, and eagle-eyed Instagram viewers, Dua Lipa has officially confirmed what fans suspected for nearly half a year: she’s engaged. The “levitating” singer and style icon made the announcement in her June 2025 British Vogue story, revealing not just her engagement to British actor Callum Turner, but also her thoughts on her ring she’s been flashing since Christmas Eve.

“It’s very exciting,” Lipa told Vogue. “This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever—it’s a really special feeling.”
And just like that, the ring that’s made cameo appearances on her Instagram since December is officially confirmed as the ring.
Lipa’s engagement ring is a true departure from the hyper-traditional sparklers we often see on celebrity hands. It's not a dainty band or a vintage heirloom—it's bold, modern, and unapologetically her.
It features a round-cut diamond on a thick gold band.
The ring features a striking round-cut diamond. Laura Suttie, senior gemologist at Queensmith, told Marie Claire that she estimates it to be around 2 carats, though others, like Laura Taylor, engagement ring specialist at Lorel Diamonds, put it between 3 and 4 carats. The diamond is set on a substantial 18k yellow gold band that measures approximately 5mm wide, according to Suttie.
“It’s so me,” Lipa said in her Vogue interview. “It’s nice to know the person that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.” Turner reportedly enlisted help from Dua’s sister Rina and several of her close friends when designing the ring.

The ring also fits seamlessly into Lipa’s signature jewelry aesthetic. Fans of her Instagram know she rarely steps out without oversized gold pieces: chunky bracelets, layered necklaces, and mismatched rings—often from her go-to brand, Tiffany & Co. While Turner’s designer of choice remains under wraps, the aesthetic does feel aligned with Lipa’s ongoing partnership with Tiffany.
Experts estimate it cost over $65,000.
Another point of debate: the diamond itself. "The diamond appears to be semi-bezel set or tension set—possibly even a fully bezel set," jeweler Susie Saltzman told Brides . As for the price, Saltzman mused, “It’s so hard to say without knowing the diamond shape, carat weight, and quality, but I would venture to guess that if it’s a high quality natural diamond, over two and a half or three carats, it most likely cost $65,000 to $85,000 on the low end and $125,000 on the high end." Suttie put the estimated cost slightly lower, around $47,000 for a natural diamond.

The engagement comes after two years of dating.
Lipa and Turner began dating in 2023, and have largely kept their relationship private. Lipa told British Vogue that she first met Turner at The River Cafe in London, where they were introduced by the restaurant's cofounder. But it wasn't until a year later, when they ran into each other at another restaurant halfway around the world, in Los Angeles, that the two really connected. They made things Instagram official in July 2024, when Lipa posted a snap from Glastonbury music festival in which Turner put his arm around her and kissed her head. The following spring, they walked a red carpet hand in hand for the first time at the 2025 Met Gala.
In the same British Vogue interview, Lipa said they've yet to set a date. "I want to finish my tour, Callum’s shooting, so we’re just enjoying this period,” she said.

The ring signals a broader trend toward chunky bands.
Dua Lipa's engagement ring may signal more than a personal milestone. It might be the tipping point for a new era in bridal fashion. With modern brides seeking individuality, sustainability, and bold aesthetics, Lipa's ring checks every box. If her influence in music and fashion is any indicator, chunky gold bands and minimalist stones might just become the go-to look for a generation that values authenticity over tradition.
According to Suttie, the design is a clear signal of changing engagement ring trends. “Thicker bands are a bit of a flex,” Suttie said in a statement. “They’re often chosen to support larger diamonds or gemstones while maintaining the ring’s structural integrity.”
Gone are the days of whisper-thin platinum bands and delicate halo settings; bold is back, and Dua’s leading the charge.
