Every Illinoisan surely has their own opinions about the best pizza in the state, especially those living in Chicago. But is there an objective answer?

The Food Network says there is. The company published a list of the best pizza restaurants in each of the 50 states, handpicking their "top places to eat."

Food Network picks best pizza spot in Illinois

The network announced that the best pizza in Illinois is served at Pie-Eyed Pizzeria, located in Chicago's River West neighborhood at 1111 W Chicago Ave.

The spot is currently celebrating 20 years of service, according to the restaurant's website.

What did the Food Network say about Pie-Eyed Pizzeria?

The network commends the restaurant's music-inspired vibe and delicious variations of pizza, saying, "Their musical inspirations are apparent in the selection of thin-crust and deep-dish pizza that pays homage to heavy metal and rock bands."

The shop has dedicated pizzas to bands like Black Sabbath, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Gwar. And with slices available until 1:30 a.m. on weekends, it's touted as the perfect post-concert spot.

Chicago pizzeria a hometown favorite as well

The pizzeria has previously been voted Best Pizza by Chicago Pizza Party, PMQ Pizza Magazine and more, according to its website.

August's Pizza of the Month is a Jalapeño Pepperoni Pizza, with jalapeño pepperoni, spinach, garlic and ricotta (with vegan pepperoni available).
