Lady Gaga Manages to Out-Goth Jenna Ortega at a “Wednesday” Event in NYC
Ever since it was announced that Lady Gaga would be joining the second installment of the hit Netflix series Wednesday, fans have been anxiously waiting to see what exactly the pop superstar’s top-secret role would entail (luckily, we won’t have to wait for long—Part 2 comes out on September 3). And our impatience was satiated last night, when Gaga attended a “Graveyard Gala” event hosted by Netflix and Spotify in New York City to promote the upcoming episodes.

Lady Gaga poses alongside Jenna Ortega at the Netflix and Spotify “Graveyard Gala” in support of Wednesday Season 2, Part 2.
There, the “Disease” singer managed to out-goth the queen of spooky aesthetics herself, Jenna Ortega, as the two posed together on the Nevermore-inspired stage.
For the event, Gaga towered over everybody in fact, wearing one of her signature pairs of platform heels, in the form of lace-up, black leather boots.

Gaga will join season two of Wednesday as a professor at Nevermore Academy.
As for the rest of her ensemble, the Grammy winner clearly understood the assignment, because she pulled a macabre look from Anton Femia, which was fittingly titled “The Fly Witch” when it first went down the runway this past June.
The ensemble consisted of dramatic balloon pants connected to a baby hoop skirt and decorated with frills, while up top, the bodice featured sheer panels like the front of a gothic abode.
Along the chest, the material was stitched with embellishments in the shape of keyholes, with one patch being shaped like a key, naturally. Then, around back, the outfit was completed with two large, iridescent fly wings.
Of course, you couldn’t miss Gaga’s headwear either, which was courtesy of the Jenny Beattie Millinery x Matthew David Andrews collaboration. Inspired by the look of a jester’s cap and bells, the fascinator was so large it could’ve doubled as a parasol, and it featured a pea green top and lacy bows, along with a subtle jacquard pattern that resembled spiderwebs.
When Season 2 Part 2 of Wednesday premieres, Gaga will be joining the cast as Rosaline Rotwood, a “legendary Nevermore teacher” who will cross paths with our titular schoolgirl. And to celebrate the release, Gaga will also be dropping a new song, titled “Dead Dance.”
Consider my paws all the way up.
