Nottingham Forest pick new target

Nottingham Forest are eyeing more South American talent, now targeting Palmeiras’ midfielder Richard Rios.

The 23-cap Colombia international would command a fee of at least £85m.

He tallied four goal involvements this season and completed 87 minutes in Palmeiras’ Club World Cup opener, a goalless draw with Porto held in New Jersey.

The 25-year-old would join a raft of South American talent moving to the City Ground this summer, with Botafogo trio Igor Jesus, Cuiabano, and Jair Cunha all expected to join the Midlands outfit.

Spurs will not stand in Son's way

As Spurs look to refresh their squad ahead of new manager Thomas Frank’s imminent arrival, they could set club captain Heung Min Son loose.

The South Korean is a Spurs legend, but is said to have taken Ange Postecoglou’s departure hard.

He is contractually obligated to appear in a friendly against Newcastle to be held in Seoul later this summer, after which Spurs will not stand in his way should he decide to leave.

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are said to be interested in his services, and he could generate a significant fee.

United's latest Ekitike plan

Manchester United are looking to offer a player-plus-cash deal for Hugo Ekitike, with Joshua Zirkzee tipped to be involved.

Frankfurt are demanding a fee of around £85m, with Chelsea known to be interested.

Cash-strapped United, though, could look to trim that fee down with the inclusion of Zirkzee, whom they signed from Bologna for £36.5m last summer.

They also remain in conversations for Viktor Gyokeres.

Guardiola confirms brace of City exits

Both Jack Grealish and Kyle Walker will leave Man City this summer, Pep Guardiola has now confirmed.

The two players’ moves had long been rumoured, as Walker requested a transfer in January and Grealish struggled to crack the City lineup this season.

Guardiola has now provided an update on Grealish’s situation, saying he was an ‘exceptional’ player.

“It was a conversation between [Grealish] and the club and they decide. Jack is an exceptional player, the only reason why he didn’t play last season is of course my decisions, and we decide that he has to play - and the club was honest, he was honest.

“We decide the best is that he has a place that he can feel he can play and come back to be the player that he was in the year of the treble or all his career at Aston Villa; without him it would have been impossible or more difficult to achieve the treble.

“The fact is the last two seasons he hasn’t played much minutes and he has to come back to play and get the butterflies back in his stomach that he can play every three days and show again the quality that he has.”

Man City youngster set for switch

Juma Bah will leave Manchester City on loan ahead of next season, with Girona among the potential destinations.

The centre-back, 19, is yet to make a senior appearance for Pep Guardiola’s side, but made 10 appearances on loan at Lens last season.

His move to City came in rather bizarre circumstances after he paid his own release clause to force a move from Valladolid.

Fresh Rodrygo twist

Wantaway Real Madrid winger Rodrygo could now be set to stay at the Bernabeu next season despite heavy interest from Arsenal and Saudi sides.

But new Los Blancos head coach Xabi Alonso has now spoken on his future, giving a cryptic statement but hinting that he could now remain in Spain.

The Spaniard said: “I know what had happened in the final stretch, it was not easy for him.

“He took some time to reset his head and I see him wanting to enjoy and contribute.”

The Spanish press report that Alonso has been ‘very attentive’ with Rodrygo.

Arsenal will not offer again for Gyokeres

Arsenal will not make a second bid for key striker target Viktor Gyokeres, according to reports in the Portuguese press.

They have reportedly decided that he is too expensive, as Sporting continue to demand a fee in the region of £68m for the 27-year-old.

Their initial offer of £47m with £8.5m in add-ons will not be improved upon, with Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins tipped as alternative targets.

This comes as Juventus are thought to be intensifying their interest in Gyokeres.

Arsenal striker target is becoming increasingly upset with Sporting CP as they continue to stand in the way of his move to the Premier League.

It had previously been reported that the club reneged on a gentleman’s agreement whereby he would be able to leave for less than his £85m release clause, but they are still demanding a considerable fee.

Sporting are now reportedly looking to meet with the player’s entourage in order to ‘clear the air’, but this has been turned down.

Neymar reveals potential switch ahead of Club World Cup

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain legend Neymar has revealed that he was offered a move to a Club World Cup side ahead of the tournament.

He is currently plying his trade at Brazilian side Santos, where he began his career.

The 33-year-old has now revealed, though, that he was offered a move to Fluminese to play at the summer tournament, but turned it down so as to focus on his personal fitness after another injury-hit campaign, missing the opportunity to join up with former Brazil teammate Thiago Silva.

“I was close to joining Fluminense for the FIFA Club World Cup, it was a serious chance,” Neymar said.

“I decided not to proceed and stay at Santos to recover as I’m not 100% fit yet, and I want to be in my best condition as soon as possible.”

He managed just four League appearances last season.

Bernardo Silva speaks on future

Bernardo Silva says he has already decided the next step of his career as he heads into the final year of his current Man City contract - but confirmed he would not leave the Etihad this summer.

“Yeah, I have one year on my contract, so obviously I could leave next season. I know what I'm going to do, but it's not the time to talk about that.

“I'm very focused on my season. I'm very focused on performing well for Man City. When the time is due, I will talk about it.

The Sporting striker is said to have rejected Manchester United's interest to prioritise a move to Arsenal. However, a reported dispute between the player and Sporting has threatened any deal.

Speaking at a press conference in the United States ahead of their Club World Cup opener, which Grealish will not play, Guardiola said: “He had a conversation with the club and [we] decided [what was for] the best. Jack is an exceptional player. The only reason why he didn’t play last season is of course my decision.

“We decide that he has to play. The club was honest, he was honest. Incredible love and respect [for him] and we decide the best is to stay [behind] and have a place [at home] that he can feel like he can come back to be the player like he was in the year of the treble or all his career in Aston Villa.

“He has to come back to play and have the butterflies in his stomach that he can play every three days and show again the quality he has.”

Guardiola added: “If we don’t find [another solution], he’s a player for Man City and he will be back.”

Arsenal assistant Carlos Cuesta is set to take charge as Parma’s new manager.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, with it claimed that the 29-year-old is on the verge of completing the move to Serie A club.

Florian Wirtz has been on holiday with Jeremie Frimpong as he prepares to seal a huge transfer to Liverpool.

Wirtz is expected to fly in for a medical on Merseyside on Friday after a mammoth deal was finally struck with Bayer Leverkusen worth an initial guaranteed £100m plus a further potential £16m in add-ons, which if met would make it the most expensive signing in the history of British football.

Liverpool in line for Nunez cash injection

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is attracting interest from AC Milan and Napoli, according to reports.

The Uruguay international has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot since joining from Benfica in the summer of 2022.

Gareth Southgate in line for shock management return

Former England manager Gareth Southgate has applied to become the new head coach of Poland’s national team, reports claim.

The 54-year-old has been out of a job since he stepped down as England manager last July following his side’s defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

Southgate led England to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals, the Euro 2020 final, the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals, and the Euro 2024 final.

Southgate was also considered a potential candidate for the Manchester United job in 2024 following Erik ten Hag's underwhelming start to the 2024-25 campaign.

Man Utd join race for Gabriel Sara

Manchester United have joined the race for Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara.

The Brazilian only signed for the Super Lig champions from Norwich last summer, but is said to be courting interest from Premier League clubs, including Manchester City.

However, according to Fotomac, Man Utd are monitoring the situation with Sara as they look to add to their midfield.

That said, the Turkish media outlet report Sara won’t come cheap and that Galatasaray will only listen to offers in the region of €30m (£25.5m).

Frank loses one of his closest allies

One of Thomas Frank’s closest allies will not be joining him at Tottenham.

Claus Norgaard was Frank’s assistant at Brentford and it was announced on Monday that he was leaving the Bees.

But Norgaard will not be following Frank from Brentford to Spurs like Justin Cochrane, Chris Haslam and Joe Newton.

Explaining why he will not be moving to Spurs, Norgaard told Danish outlet Bold: “There were several things that came into play when Thomas moved to Tottenham. Personally, I couldn’t make it fit in that well.

Brighton have strengthened again!

Italy international Diego Coppola becomes the club's second major signing of the summer window as he joins from Serie A club Hellas Verona on a five-year deal.

Calafiori: I'm happy at Arsenal

Riccardo Calafiori has insisted that he is happy at Arsenal.

The Italian has been linked with a move back to the Serie A despite only joining the Gunners last year.

He had an injury-laden season last term, making 19 appearances in his first campaign in north London, but he told Di Marzio that he was content with where he was.

"At Arsenal, I'm very happy,” he said.

"I always feel good in any position I play in order to help the team. What was missing last season was consistency and I'll look to find that consistency next season.

"When I felt good, I always played and made a difference in the team. So the goal next season is to be in form for the whole season."

Liverpool enter Fofana race

Liverpool are also in the race to sign Lyon’s Malick Fofana.

On Monday, it was revealed that Chelsea made informal contact with the Ligue 1 side for the 20-year-old.

But according to L’Equipe, Liverpool are looking at him too.

Fofana has only been at Lyon since January 2024 but he established himself as a regular last season, scoring 11 goals and claiming six assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Milos Kerkez has jumped the gun and seemingly announced his move to Liverpool.

The Bournemouth left-back is expected to leave Bournemouth for Anfield in the coming days in a deal, with both clubs in talks over a deal worth at least £40million.

The Italian has been linked with a move back to the Serie A despite only joining the Gunners last year.

He had an injury-laden season last term, making 19 appearances in his first campaign in north London, but he told Di Marzio that he was content with where he was.

"At Arsenal, I'm very happy,” he said.

AC Milan will try and convince Mike Maignan to sign a new contract after talks with Chelsea collapsed.

The goalkeeper's current deal expires next summer and he was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League side.

However, after Chelsea failed to reach an agreement with Milan in time for the Club World Cup, the Rossoneri have an opportunity to secure Maignan's future.
