"After this, I'll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can't really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season."
"I just want to thank everyone for really showing me big love, even before it will be announced now.
"And keep supporting the team like you support always, because you're the biggest fan base in the world.
"I'm going to give everything – absolutely everything – to win trophies with the club and to hopefully score some goals at Anfield. I can't wait to hear the roar. And see you soon."

Ederson shuts down exit talk
10:24 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneEderson has moved to shut down any talk of a Manchester City exit this summer.
The goalkeeper, who is entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, has been linked with a move away.
In fact, Ederson noted a few months ago that he had a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia last summer.
However, amid suggestions that he could be on the way out of Man City after the Club World Cup, the Brazilian has reassured supporters that he is staying out.
He said: "My future is here. Some friends send me a lot of news but 99% is fake news. I understand you guys.
"You need the news to put a like on social media, or rant for the news. I understand but there's a lot of fake news around my name.
"My head is here. It stays with the city. It gives me everything to go back to the Premier League again and try to win the Champions League as well.
"My mind is staying in the club."

Brentford never rest on their laurels in the transfer market and have now agreed a deal to sign Feyenoord’s 20-year-old Dutch attacker Antoni Milambo, according to the Daily Mirror.
The transfer is believed to be worth £17m plus £4.25m in add-ons, and interestingly is said to have been planned for around two months now, having been approved by former boss Thomas Frank before he joined Tottenham.

However, new Los Blancos boss Xabi Alonso insists that Rodrygo still has a huge part to play at the Bernabeu, despite his bit-part role at the Club World Cup so far.
“I see Rodrygo in good shape,” Alonso said.
“He was on the bench for a technical decision.
“He’s still important, and we’ll need him at the Club World Cup.
“He’s a special player and will play a key role.”

Bulka, the Pole, played 34 times for Nice in Ligue 1 last season, and Fabrizio Romano reports that Regis Le Bris’ side are interested in bringing him to the Premier League.

United ready to accept cut-price for Garnacho
08:58 , Oli GentAlejandro Garnacho’s price tag could be slashed by Manchester United in order for the Red Devils to sell him more easily.

08:01 , George FloodChristian Norgaard has received permission to undergo a medical at Arsenal.
Yesterday came the news that the Gunners had seen a bid for the Danish midfielder - also linked with a reunion with Thomas Frank at Tottenham - accepted by Brentford.
Fabrizio Romano reports this morning that Norgaard has got the green light to undergo a medical and finalise his switch from west to north London.
He will become Arsenal’s third signing of the summer following agreed deals for Spain duo Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga, none of which have yet been made official.
Norgaard will be the replacement for Thomas Partey, who is poised to leave the Emirates Stadium when his current contract expires next week with no agreement reached over an extension.
Sesko 'follows' Arsenal as transfer talks continue
07:19Benjamin Sesko’s recent social media activity may have given Arsenal fans cause for excitement.
It has appeared for much of the summer so far like the Slovenian international is the Gunners’ preferred choice over Viktor Gyokeres to become their overdue statement striker signing ahead of a renewed trophy push next season.
However, progress has seemed very slow indeed on that front with both the transfer fee and Sesko’s wage demands reported to be sticking points.
But Sesko now appears to be following Arsenal’s official account on Instagram, which in the modern football world could well be an indicator that things are finally moving in a positive direction.

Chelsea set to clinch Gittens deal
06:59 , George FloodChelsea appear to be close to a deal for Jamie Gittens.

Having failed to clinch the signing of Gittens prior to the Club World Cup, talks have continued over in the United States.
According to ESPN, Chelsea are now close to signing Gittens, though will still have to pay a fee in excess of £50m for the England Under-21 international.

06:43 , George FloodManchester United look to finally be closing in on the signing of Bryan Mbeumo.

The Guardian now report that Manchester United are close to securing a deal for Mbeumo that could be worth almost Brentford’s full asking price of £65m with final talks ongoing over add-ons.

After opening their campaign with a 2-0 win over Los Angeles FC, the Blues lost 3-1 to Flamengo last Friday. However, they made sure of their progression to the last 16 by beating Tunisian outfit ES Tunis 3-0 on Wednesday.

Elliott urged to leave Liverpool
Wednesday 25 June 2025 20:44 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneJoe Cole says teams in Europe will be interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott this summer.
Elliott has already gone on record stating he will consider his future with the Premier League champions after seeing his game time decrease significantly under new head coach Arne Slot last season.
Already facing a tough battle to break into the team, Elliott’s chances of first-team football next season is likely to be further limited with Liverpool tying up a club-record £116m deal for attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
That said, the 22-year-old offered a reminder of his qualities with a stunning brace to help England U21s overcome Netherlands U21s and reach yet another European Championship final.
Speaking about Elliott’s performance on Channel 4 after the game, Cole believes the midfielder should leave Liverpool this summer, going as far as to map out a career path for the former Fulham youngster.

Standard Sport understands Arsenal and Man United had been leading the race for Gyokeres, but Liverpool’s sudden interest will disrupt their negotiations.

The seven-time Ligue 1 champions, co-owned by Crystal Palace shareholder John Textor, were demoted to Ligue 2 due to their sorry financial state.
The decision also opens the door for Chelsea and Liverpool to raid the Lyon squad. Both sides had shown an interest in left-footed winger Fofana, and could likely cut a favourable deal following Olympique’s relegation.
The two clubs have enquired as to his availability and were reportedly quoted a fee of £60m, but that price will likely fall as Lyon look to improve their rocky financial standing through player sales.

Wednesday 25 June 2025 10:19 , Arthur FerridgeThe Briton is looking for a new club after a fraught four-year stay at Old Trafford, during which he suffered a public and acrimonious falling out with former manager Erik ten Hag.
He spent last season on loan at Chelsea and hoped to make the move permanent, but talks broke down as the player was unwilling to waver from his lofty wages.
Napoli had shown an interest in taking him on, providing the chance for him to reunite with former United teammate Scott McTominay, but also found his wages to be a stumbling block.
Sancho could now be set for a move to Turkey, though, having reportedly agreed personal terms with Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.

The 21-year-old is considered one of the rising stars of Brazilian football and has plenty of suitors in Europe, including Brighton, who have reportedly already made a bid for him.
Chelsea have also drawn into the mix, particularly after the player impressed against the Blues in Flamengo’s 3-1 win over Enzo Maresca’s side at the Club World Cup last week.
However, Jorge Nicola insists reports linking Wesley with a move to Stamford Bridge are wide of the mark.
Nicola said: “Just to clarify something, many people said that after the match against Chelsea the English club would also join the fight to sign Wesley. That’s not true.
“Wesley is well-regarded at Chelsea; he played well despite the goal. Despite this mistake, the evaluation was positive.
“But Chelsea is not thinking about signing him because they already have at least two players with a great future for the position.”
