LIVE – Updated at 13:50
The two summer window is not yet open but Europe's biggest clubs are already making moves. Arsenal have been given permission to schedule a medical for Martin Zubimendi after triggering his £51million release clause, while a move for a much-needed striker appears to come down to Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres, who will cost £60m, or Benjamin Sesko, who will cost £92.5m. There is also interest in Leroy Sane on a free, who Tottenham have been offered.
Manchester United's miserable season arguably hit a new low with defeat to ASEAN All-Stars in a post-season friendly, but have at least already secured a key attacking signing for next season in Matheus Cunha, who is set to finalise a £62.5m move from Wolves. Meanwhile, captain Bruno Fernandes must decide on a move to Saudi Arabia before the end of the week.
Liverpool face late competition from Real Madrid for Florian Wirtz, despite submitting their first bid, reportedly worth €100million (£85m) plus add-ons, for the Bayer Leverkusen star. They are close to wrapping up deals for Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, though, and are ready to rival Chelsea for Frankfurt frontman Hugo Ekitike and have begun talks over an £84m deal. It is now up to Chelsea to trigger his release clause and agree personal terms.

Arsenal join race for Alvarez
12:52 , Alex YoungCould Julian Alvarez be on his way back to the Premier League this summer?
The Argentine only left England last summer as in the search for regular first-team football he joined Atletico Madrid from Manchester City.
Alvarez enjoyed a fine season in Spain, netting 29 goals in 54 appearances across all competitions.
Such form has seen him linked with a move to Liverpool, though Marca claim Arsenal are interested too and are pushing hardest for his signature.

Atletico step up Romero pursuit
11:54 , Alex YoungAtletico president Miguel Angel Gilis is set to contact Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy over signing Cristian Romero.
It has been widely expected that Romero would join the Spanish giants this summer, but Tottenham's Europa League win - and subsequent Champions League qualification - has thrown doubt on a deal.
Atletico were also not willing to spend much more than €50million, which would almost match what Spurs paid for the player three years ago, in which time he has won the World Cup, Copa America and named many of the match in the Europa League final.
AS report this morning that Atleti chief Gilis will now get involved to find out "firsthand how willing’ Spurs are to sell Romero.

But FIFA president Gianni Infantino is desperate to have him involved in the Club World Cup, which launches a newly expanded version in two weeks' time.
"Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup," Infantino inexplicably told YouTuber IShowSpeed. "There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows, who knows."

Veteran defender Ben Davies is also out of contract in June, but Spurs hold the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months and a decision is expected by next week.
Tottenham will not trigger the option in Timo Werner's loan, with the ex-Chelsea forward to return to RB Leipzig after a poor second spell.
A call is also required on the option to turn Mathys Tel's loan from Bayern Munich into a permanent deal.
Tel scored three times in 20 appearances for Spurs and while there is a deadline to trigger the option, no decision is expected before the early summer transfer window of June 1 to 10.

The 21-year-old has already confirmed he will be leaving the French club this summer and reports claim he could be available for around £20m due to a release clause in his contract of around that figure.
According to Telegraph Sport, Man City are the latest Premier League club to show an interest in the France U21 international who scored 12 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions for Lyon this season.

Rashford currently earns more than £300,000 a week at Manchester United, who would want a loan fee to part ways with their former talisman.

The Reds appeared to have a free run at the Bayer Leverkusen star after Manchester City pulled out of negotiations and then Bayern Munich admitted defeat amid reports the player had rejected the German giants.
But Real Madrid have other ideas.
According to Spanish publication AS, Madrid believe they can hijack Liverpool's efforts and lure the player to the Santiago Bernabeu, helped by head coach Xabi Alonso's move from Leverkusen to Madrid.
The Spanish giants believe Alonso is the ace up their sleeve to land Europe's hottest property. Alonso turned Wirtz into the continent's most in-demand player.
The race, it appears, remains wide open.

“I’m not the coach, I don’t know the discussions, but everyone has been screaming for a nine, apart from when we win.
“When we beat Real Madrid, we don’t need a nine apparently. I don’t understand the way people change the way they talk – we need a nine when we’re not scoring and then suddenly, we go on a winning run, and no one mentions it. You [Arsenal] need a nine, a proper nine.”

The club are also looking for a new left-back, with Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez of interest, and possibly a striker and centre-half.Asked if there was a busy summer ahead, Werner said: "It's already busy.
"We go again. It never gets old, winning. We owe it to all of our supporters to bring back a team even better next season."
