Alexander-Arnold contract confirmed

Real Madrid have confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a six-year contract with the club, which will begin on June 1.

The club also confirm that the right-back will make his debut at the upcoming Club World Cup.

Done deal! Alexander-Arnold joins Real Madrid early

Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to complete an early move to Real Madrid after Liverpool accepted a £10m fee for the right-back.

Alexander-Arnold was expected to move to the Spanish giants following the expiry of his Reds contract at the end of June, but Madrid have paid an eight-figure fee to expedite the transfer ahead of the Club World Cup.

Xabi Alonso, Madrid’s new head coach, wanted the player in his squad for their first match of the newly expanded tournament against Al Hilal in Miami on June 18. Alexander-Arnold will officially become a Madrid player on the first summer transfer window opens on June 1.

Max Allegri’s return to AC Milan has been confirmed!

There is no word on length of contract.

AC Milan sack Conceicao as Allegri appointment prepared

AC Milan have sacked coach Sergio Conceicao after just five months in charge.

Milan have endured a disappointing season in which they finished ninth in Serie A and missed out on European competition for the first time since 2019.

"The Club would like to thank Sergio and his staff for their commitment, professionalism and dedication shown during their time leading the team over the past few months," Milan said in a statement.

Massimiliano Allegri is expected to return as head coach, 11 years after his first spell and a year after leaving Juventus.

Conceicao was appointed in December as a replacement for Paulo Fonseca and got off to an impressive start as he led Milan to victory in the Italian Super Cup in his second match in charge.

However, results in the league did not improve under the Portuguese and they were also eliminated from the Champions League in a playoff loss to Dutch side Feyenoord in February.

Milan's last hope of salvaging the season ended earlier in May with a bitter 1-0 loss to Bologna in the Coppa Italia final.

Conceicao was not on the touchline for the season's final match against Monza at San Siro, having received a one-match ban after being sent off in the defeat by AS Roma last weekend, a result that ended Milan's last hope of securing a European spot.

Man Utd will move for Osimhen if Fernandes and Rashford leave

Manchester United could launch a bid to sign Victor Osimhen once Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford are sold.

Fernandes is in talks over a move to Saudi Arabia, while Rashford is hoping to join Barcelona after a mixed loan spell at Aston Villa.

Osimhen is in need of a new club after being frozen out by Napoli and sending the season with Galatasaray. Foot Mercato report that United remain interested but are currently unable to match the player's wage demands.

Getting both Fernandes and Rashford off the books will significant help that cause, but Saudi clubs are ready to blow any United package for Osimhen out of the water.

The report adds that Al Hilal - who also want Fernandes - have an agreement with Osimhen on a three-year deal worth four times his current Napoli wage.

Al Hilal want Osimhen signed before the start of the Club World Cup in two weeks' time.

Atletico step up Romero pursuit

Atletico president Miguel Angel Gilis is set to contact Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy over signing Cristian Romero.

It had been widely expected that Romero would join the Spanish giants this summer, but Tottenham's Europa League win - and subsequent Champions League qualification - has thrown doubt on a deal.

Atletico were also not willing to spend much more than €50million, which would almost match what Spurs paid for the player three years ago, in which time he has won the World Cup, Copa America and most recently named man of the match in the Europa League final.

AS report that Atleti chief Gilis will now get involved to find out "firsthand how willing” Spurs are to sell Romero.

Rashford willing to take pay cut to join Barcelona

More details have emerged from Barcelona's meeting with Marcus Rashford representatives earlier this week.

Sport journalist Toni Juanmarti, who broke the news of the meeting yesterday, reports today that Rashford is willing to accept a pay cut to join Barcelona on a straight loan deal.

Rashford currently earns more than £300,000 a week at Manchester United, who would want a loan fee to part ways with their former talisman.

The report adds that Barcelona see signing Rashford on those terms as as "a very low-risk operation", which has seen the player move ahead of Luis Diaz on the list of transfer priorities.

Manchester City have made their first bid for Tijjani Reijnders, worth around £50million plus add-ons.

According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan want more to let the midfielder leave but talks will continue today.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Milan want closer to £60m and are in no rush to sell with Reijnders have only recently signed a new five-year contract.

The 'truth' about Arsenal booking Zubimendi medical

Arsenal have been permitted to book a medical for Martin Zubimendi, but fans should not hold their breath.

The Gunners have been working on a deal to sign the Real Sociedad midfielder since last summer, and have now triggered all the required clauses to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

However, Spanish publication Cope claim that those reports may have jumped the gun.

Cope contacted Zubimendi’s entourage following BBC Sport’s report and were told that a medical has not been scheduled and the player remains in San Sebastian. He then uploaded a photo of Zurriola beach soon after.

Cope believe the post was a “subtle, yet direct, response to the immediate rumours”.

Either way, Zubimendi will be arriving at Arsenal for £51million and there is little rush to get a deal done with Arsenal not back in pre-season for another month.

Tottenham are set to miss out on signing Real Betis star Johnny Cardoso.

This is despite striking an arrangement with the Spanish outfit last summer as part of the deal taking Giovani Lo Celso to the beaten Conference League finalists.

Bruno Fernandes to decide on Saudi move today

Bruno Fernandes is running out of time to decide if he wants to leave Manchester United for Al-Hilal.

Not for the first time, the Portuguese midfielder is being heavily linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia as we approach the first of two summer transfer windows, in the aftermath of a truly dire season for United as a whole.

Fernandes and United boss Ruben Amorim have both been adamant for weeks now that the influential skipper is definitely staying put at Old Trafford, yet the rumours and offers persist.

Now according to Ben Jacobs, Fernandes agent Miguel Pinho travelled to Saudi Arabia this week to meet with Al-Hilal and speak to president Fahad bin Nafel.

Such a deal is said to be worth an enormous £200m over three years, including bonuses.

Al-Hilal would reportedly be willing to pay over £100m for a player who remains under contract in Manchester until 2027, with the club retaining an option for another year beyond that.

A 72-hour deadline is set to expire today, but of course could yet run for a few more days after.

If Liam Delap does make the move to Chelsea this summer, supporters will be interested in seeing what shirt number he is allocated.

At Ipswich, Delap has worn the number 19. At Chelsea, Sancho is in possession of that particular shirt number and could stick with it next season amid reports he could sign for the club on a permanent basis.

Sky Sports claim that Chelsea would like Sancho to stay - but only if they can agree on contract terms which fit in with the wage structure at the club.

Eddie Howe wants to end any speculation regarding Alexander Isak's future at Newcastle once and for all.

Arsenal close to agreeing Gabriel contract

More big news coming out of Arsenal tonight, this time regarding a current player.

According to the BBC’s Sami Mokbel, the Gunners are in advanced contract talks with central defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Brazil international, who missed the end of the season with a hamstring injury, sees his current deal expires in 2027 but Arsenal have been in discussions over new terms.

After Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said the club hope to have many new signings in place before the Club World Cup, there has been a huge development regarding AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.

Endo breaks silence on Liverpool future

Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo says he is happy to stay at the club as speculation regarding his future grows.

The Japan international is by no means a regular under Arne Slot, but with a World Cup on the horizon, there has been talk of a move so that he can get much important minutes under his belt next season.

Amorim tight-lipped on Cunha deal

Manchester United head coach Amorim was happy to reflect on his side’s shock friendly loss to ASEAN All-Stars on Wednesday afternoon.

Deal announced

Burnley are continuing to make moves ahead of their return to the Premier League.

After announcing the arrivals of Bashir Humphreys and Marcus Edwards over the past week, it has now been confirmed that Zian Flemming has signed a four-year deal with the club.

Flemming joined the Clarets on loan from Championship rivals Millwall last summer and has now made the switch to Turf Moor permanent.

He said: "It feels really good to be honest. When I signed last year, I obviously knew that I was going to sign permanently in the summer, but I'm very happy to be staying here full-time now.

Arsenal are reportedly pushing to sign Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.

This rumour is sure to be music to the ears of Gunners legend Thierry Henry after revealing his appreciation for the former Man City striker during an appearance on the Overlap.

Brentford have confirmed that Yehor Yarmoliuk has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2031.

Man City want several signings in before Club World Cup

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak says the club will make a number of signings this summer and hope to have many in place before the Club World Cup starts in two weeks’ time.

“We have clearly identified who exactly are the targets, in what positions, and we have our clear number one option, our clear number two option,” he said.

“And we’ll go about our business and it will be very clear, very swift. And our objective is to try to be ready with the new squad for the Club World Cup.

Jonathan Tah has moved from Bayer Leverkusen on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract.

Ronaldo to confirm Al-Nassr exit today

Cristiano Ronaldo's exit from Al-Nassr will be announced today amid ongoing speculation over his future move.

Liverpool have poached scout Tika Musonda from Tottenham.

The Mail reports that Musonda, brother of former Chelsea youth star Charly, has joined the Reds as a global talent scout.

Musonda leaves Spurs after three and a half years, having previously spent two years with Chelsea.

Tottenham to let four players leave

Tottenham are set to let four players leave the club following the expiry of their contracts.

Goalkeepers Fraser Forster and Alfie Whiteman will depart alongside left-back Sergio Reguilon, who has only made six appearances for the club in the last three years.

Veteran defender Ben Davies is also out of contract in June, but Spurs hold the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months and a decision is expected by next week.

Tottenham will not trigger the option in Timo Werner's loan, with the ex-Chelsea forward to return to RB Leipzig after a poor second spell.

A call is also required on the option to turn Mathys Tel's loan from Bayern Munich into a permanent deal.

Tel scored three times in 20 appearances for Spurs and while there is a deadline to trigger the option, no decision is expected before the early summer transfer window of June 1 to 10.

Man City have joined the race for Lyon forward Rayan Cherki.

The 21-year-old has already confirmed he will be leaving the French club this summer and reports claim he could be available for around £20m due to a release clause in his contract of around that figure.

Seems like some more details have emerged from Barcelona's meeting with Marcus Rashford representatives.

Sport journalist Toni Juanmarti, who broke the news of the meeting yesterday, reports today that Rashford is willing to accept a pay cut to join Barcelona on a straight loan deal.

Rashford currently earns more than £300,000 a week at Manchester United, who would want a loan fee to part ways with their former talisman.

The report adds that Barcelona see signing Rashford on those terms as as "a very low-risk operation", which has seen the player move ahead of Luis Diaz on the list of transfer priorities.

Real Madrid belief grows over Wirtz hijacking

Real Madrid are growing confident of hijacking Liverpool's move for Florian Wirtz.

The Reds appeared to have a free run at the Bayer Leverkusen star after Manchester City pulled out of negotiations and then Bayern Munich admitted defeat amid reports the player had rejected the German giants.

But Real Madrid have other ideas.

Newcastle reveal transfer shortlist

Despite announcing the departure of sporting director Paul Mitchell this week, Newcastle are wasting no time on their summer transfer business as they look to strengthen ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign.

Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen has issued a statement underlining the German club's credentials in the wake of missing out on no1 transfer target Florian Wirtz to Liverpool.

"Much more has been written than spoken," Dreesen told TZ. "FC Bayern is one of the absolute top clubs in Europe and the world. Our appeal among fans, but also among players, is enormous.

Arsenal lodge first bid for Gyokeres

Arsenal have finally made their move for Viktor Gyokeres.

According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha claim the Gunners have made an offer worth in excess of €70m (£58m) for the Sporting striker.

It is claimed that Arsenal representatives met with Gyokeres’ agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, at the Women’s Champions League final in Lisbon over weekend and presented the offer, which was proposed to Sporting president Frederico Varandas yesterday.

Bruno Fernandes given 72-hour deadline over Saudi move

Bruno Fernandes has seemingly been given a deadline this week to decide if he wants to leave Manchester United for Al-Hilal.

Not for the first time, the Portuguese midfielder is being heavily linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia as we approach the first of two summer transfer windows, in the aftermath of a truly dire season for United as a whole.

Fernandes and United boss Ruben Amorim have both been adamant for weeks now that the influential skipper is definitely staying put at Old Trafford, yet the rumours and offers persist.

Now according to the Daily Mail, the 30-year-old has 72 hours to decide whether or not to accept a final “take-it-or-leave-it” offer from Al-Hilal that would apparently see him earn £700,000 a week tax-free.

Such a deal is said to be worth an enormous £200m over three years, including bonuses.

Al-Hilal would reportedly be willing to pay over £100m for a player who remains under contract in Manchester until 2027, with the club retaining an option for another year beyond that.

Man City make move for £20m Cherki

Man City have joined the race for Lyon forward Rayan Cherki.

The 21-year-old has already confirmed he will be leaving the French club this summer and reports claim he could be available for around £20m due to a release clause in his contract of around that figure.

According to Telegraph Sport, Man City are the latest Premier League club to show an interest in the France U21 international who scored 12 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions for Lyon this season.

Pep Guardiola’s side have recently dropped out of the race for Florian Wirtz and may feel Cherki is a cheaper - and more exciting - alternative.
