Chelsea make Maignan offer

Chelsea have reportedly bid £21million for unsettled AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

The Frenchman has a year left on his deal, but Gazzetto Dello Sport report his renewal negotiations have stopped ‘abruptly’, likely due to Chelsea’s interest.

The player has held talks with Enzo Maresca as the Italian looks to convince the player to make the switch.

He could join Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen in the Chelsea squad, neither of whom laid a serious claim to the No1 shirt this season.

Returning loanee Djorde Petrovic and new signing Mike Penders will also join up this summer and were expected to be a part of the first team, though the addition of Maignan would complicate Maresca’s selection.

Sunderland make loan star's move permanent

Premier League new boys Sunderland have confirmed the permanent signing of Enzo Le Fee.

He joined the club on loan from Roma in January and played a key role through the second half of the season, making 18 appearances as the Black Cats were promoted to the Premier League.

Le Fee told the club’s website: “I said before the Play-Off Final that my heart was in Sunderland – I wanted to stay, and this made it the most important game of my life. Together, we did it. From the moment I arrived, I have enjoyed my football, my team-mates, and our supporters.”

Al Hilal set for transfer push after manager switch

Al Hilal’s transfer plans were revealed after Simone Inzaghi was announced as their new manager, just days after his Inter Milan side were comprehensively beaten by PSG in the Champions League final.

The Italian has a tight turnaround ahead of his first match in charge, where he will face Real Madrid in the Club World Cup group stage. That tie is just two weeks away.

They are looking to make fresh signings ahead of the tournament, though. Reports claim that they will prioritise adding a striker, midfielder and left-back before travelling to the United States, with a busy fortnight of negotiations on the cards.

They will head back to the drawing board after Man United captain Bruno Fernandes turned down a big-money move to join the club earlier this week.

They had also been linked to a move for Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who is reportedly interested in switching clubs with an eye to playing at the Club World Cup.

Liverpool close in on Kerkez deal

Liverpool’s extended pursuit of Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez is expected to come to a close shortly as Fabrizio Romano reports the two clubs have entered into their final round of talks.

The deal is in the process of being finalised in a final round of talks, while personal terms were agreed with the player last week. The deal is expected to be worth around £40m.

The Hungary international would be the second full-back signed this summer after Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival was confirmed last week.

Raheem Sterling to depart Chelsea

English winger Raheem Sterling is expected to be among those departing Stamford Bridge this summer.

He signed to Chelsea from Man City in 2022 but has struggled to impress. He spent this season on loan at Arsenal after Enzo Maresca decided he was not in the plans, but had little impact there.

Brazilian youngster Santos commits future to Chelsea

Chelsea youngster Andrey Santos has ended speculation over his future by confirming he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old Brazilian, who is yet to play for Chelsea since his £18million move from Vasco da Gama in 2023, impressed on loan at Ligue 1 side Strasbourg last season.

There have been doubts over his future but Santos says he does not want to leave.

Speaking to Spanish publication Diario AS, he said: “In principle, I stay at Chelsea”.

“I want to play, I want to have minutes to be able to earn my place in the World Cup. I want to consolidate myself in Chelsea, be an undisputed starter, win titles at this club.”

Sterling reacts to Arsenal exit

Raheem Sterling's time at Arsenal is officially over.

The winger joined the Gunners on loan from Chelsea on deadline day last summer, but struggled to make much of an impact.

Earlier today it was confirmed Sterling would be heading back to his parent club upon the expiry of his loan deal and he reacted with a short message on Instagram.

He wrote: "Thank you for making my family feel welcome."

Wirtz shirt number option

Florian Wirtz has one clear shirt number alternative should he complete a summer transfer to Liverpool.

Reports in Germany claimed Wirtz would like to wear the No.10 at Liverpool - the shirt number he has worn for Bayer Leverkusen across the last two seasons.

The issue with that is at Liverpool, the No.10 is currently worn by Alexis Mac Allister, who would have to agree to a change of shirt number ahead of the new season for Wirtz to get his wish.

Mbeumo wage demands revealed

The Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United transfer is moving fast.

Firstly, it was revealed the Brentford forward favours a move to Old Trafford over joining Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham.

Then Sky Sports claimed earlier today that United have made contact with their Premier League rivals over a deal that could be worth around £60m.

Now, the Times have reported Mbeumo’s wage demands - £250k per week.

That would be five times his current £50k p/w salary with the Bees.

For those demands to be met, United may have to offload two of their higher earners, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, who are both on about £300,000 a week.

Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma is wanted by Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho wants to strengthen his midfield this summer, and the Spurs player has emerged as a target amid reports that Fred could be on his way out.

According to the Turkish newspaper, Hurriyet, Fenerbahce have offered to loan the 28-year-old, with an option to buy.

However, Spurs are reportedly keen to sell Bissouma in a permanent deal as they look to raise funds.

Man Utd propose Sancho-Kudus swap deal

Jadon Sancho's return to Manchester United is set to be short-lived.

It was announced on Tuesday that the winger's loan spell at Chelsea would not be made permanent, with the Blues paying a £5million penalty.

Sancho now, according to reports, has been offered to West Ham in exchange for Mohammed Kudus.

However, this proposal is ‘unlikely’ to be accepted by the Hammers as they rate Kudus at around the £60million mark, far higher than their valuation of Sancho.

At last, a development in the Benjamin Sesko to Arsenal transfer saga!

Last week it was reported that the Gunners had opened concrete talks with RB Leipzig to sign the highly-rated striker.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Liverpool’s move for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.

He said: “The agreement with the player is done. I’m told that Milos Kerkez can’t wait to join Liverpool.

“He’s really tempted by this opportunity, tempted to be part of this fantastic squad, believing that Liverpool were already fantastic in the season just completed, and it’s going to be even better in the next one with more additions.

The Cameroon forward is said to favour a switch to Old Trafford if he leaves Brentford this summer, having also attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle.

Viktor Gyokeres addresses Arsenal transfer links

Viktor Gyokeres is still not giving away much on his future amid the latest links to Arsenal and Manchester United.

The prolific Sporting Lisbon striker’s next move is among the biggest topics of the summer transfer window, with an exit from the Estadio Jose Alvalade considered very likely indeed.

Arsenal have been most strongly linked with Gyokeres over recent months but now appear to be prioritising RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, while United are also said to be pursuing him, along with Liverpool but not Barcelona.

The former Coventry marksman has pulled out of the Sweden squad for upcoming matches against Hungary and Algeria due to a minor injury and remained tight-lipped on his future when quizzed by former Sky Blues team-mate Leo Ostigard on a recent appearance on the Flymodus podcast.

"Where are you going in the summer transfer window? Can you give us a hint? Is it Arsenal? What are the alternatives?" Ostigard asked.

Gyokeres replied: "We will see. Nobody knows anything yet. I wish I had a more fun answer, but that's all I can say for now."

Ostigard joked at the end of the conversation: "Viktor! Great talking to you. See you soon, and text me when everything is signed and sorted down in Arsenal."

Speaking of players on social media tonight, Florian Wirtz has hit back at a particular part of the ongoing Liverpool transfer talk.

The Reds are preparing a huge third offer for the German forward after seeing two bids - the second totalling up to £109m - rejected by Bayer Leverkusen.

Earlier today it was reported that Wirtz wanted to wear the No10 shirt at Liverpool, which is currently occupied by Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

But now the 22-year-old has rubbished those claims, writing on X: “Who says I want the 10?

“I respect players. Don’t believe everything what’s written.”

Jadon Sancho confirms Chelsea exit

Jadon Sancho has said his goodbyes to Chelsea on social media this evening.

Earlier today came the news that, after deliberating for the last few weeks, Chelsea would not be fulfilling the obligation in his season-long loan from Manchester United for a permanent summer transfer, instead paying a £5m penalty fee to send him back to Old Trafford.

“Grateful for the experience,” Sancho wrote on X, having played a key role in Chelsea’s Conference League triumph.

Luka Modric agrees AC Milan move

Luka Modric looks to be swapping Real Madrid for AC Milan this summer.

The veteran Croatian playmaker bid an emotional farewell to the Bernabeu at the end of the season after 13 unforgettable years, almost 600 appearances and 28 major trophies, but has agreed to stay until after the Club World Cup.

Modric’s next move after that had been subject to intense speculation, with Milan seemingly emerging as the favourite suitor over recent days.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the 38-year-old- the new co-owner of Swansea City - has accepted the Rossoneri’s proposal today.

Bruno Fernandes explains decision to reject Al-Hilal

Bruno Fernandes has been addressing the media tonight ahead of Portugal’s Nations League semi-final tie against Germany in Munich tomorrow night.

The Manchester United captain was inevitably quizzed on his decision to reject a lucrative £100m move to Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal and instead remain at Old Trafford. Here’s what he had to say:

“The president of Al Hilal called me a month ago to ask me about it.

“There was a waiting period for me to think about the future. As I have always said, I would be willing to do it if Manchester United thought so.

“I spoke to coach Ruben Amorim who, throughout that period, was very annoying to me not to go!

“The club said they would not be willing to sell me, only if I wanted to leave, that it was not a financial issue.

“It was a very ambitious proposal.

“The president was a fantastic person. We never discussed the amount [initially]. With my agent? Of course.

“Then, I spoke to my wife and family, and she asked me what my personal goals were in my career. She was someone who always supported me a lot.

Simone Inzaghi leaves Inter Milan to join Al-Hilal

Simone Inzaghi has left Inter Milan just three days after their Champions League final hammering by Paris Saint-Germain.

The Nerazzuri’s preparations for Saturday night’s showpiece fixture in Munich were disrupted by constant speculation over the future of their manager, who was expected to depart regardless of the result and join Al-Hilal.

Inzaghi’s exit from Inter has now been officially confirmed, with the Italian writing a heartfelt letter to fans after a difficult season in which they were also pipped to the Serie A title by Napoli on a dramatic final day and lost to arch-rivals AC Milan in both the Coppa Italia semi-finals and Supercoppa Italiana final.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the 49-year-old will now travel to Paris on Wednesday in order to meet with Al-Hilal president Fahad bin Nafel, before going to Saudi Arabia and then on to the Club World Cup in the United States.

He says Inzaghi has penned a two-year deal with Al-Hilal worth €26m per season.

Arsenal in concrete talks over Benjamin Sesko deal

Speaking of Benjamin Sesko, there’s been another update on those Arsenal links this evening.

There has been speculation for days now that new Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta has been in contact with RB Leipzig counterpart Marcel Schafer over a deal for the Slovenian striker that would be worth around £70m - much less than the £100m quoted in some quarters amid much confusion over a release clause.

Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany reports tonight that Arsenal have indeed now entered concrete talks with Leipzig over Sesko, with Berta aware of the release clause and exact payment structure demanded.

They are said to be the only club to do so up until now despite ongoing interest from Manchester United in the 22-year-old.

Arsenal are still considering Ollie Watkins as their statement summer striker signing, according to reports.

The Gunners made a shock late move to sign the England international back in the January transfer window, only to see a £60m bid firmly rebuffed as Aston Villa sold fellow forward Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Arsenal are said to have entered talks with RB Leipzig over a deal for Benjamin Sesko, while they remain strongly linked with prolific Sporting Lisbon talisman Viktor Gyokeres.

It's turning into a rare great day for Manchester United on the transfer front.

This morning came the very welcome news that influential captain Bruno Fernandes, after days of difficult deliberation, had finally rejected a lucrative last offer from Al-Hilal to move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

If that wasn't enough of a boost for United having already signed Matheus Cunha after a torrid season, then it appears they are on track to seal a deal for Bryan Mbeumo.

The Cameroon forward is said to favour a switch to Old Trafford over the likes of Newcastle and Arsenal, with BBC Sport reporting that United are expected to begin talks with Brentford imminently regarding a player who scored 20 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions in west London this season.

So much is going on at Chelsea, where the £30m signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich should be announced very soon.

Liverpool get huge new Florian Wirtz boost

Liverpool look to have been given a sizable new boost in their pursuit of Florian Wirtz.

The Premier League champions are still trying to secure a blockbuster deal for the German forward after sealing the £29.5m signing of his Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Jeremie Frimpong as they also target Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.

Liverpool have seen two substantial bids for Wirtz rejected so far, the second of which totalled £109m, with suggestions that Leverkusen are looking for around £120m instead and possibly one of Jarell Quansah or Harvey Elliott in part-exchange.

Reports first surfaced back in January that the Gunners had agreed to trigger the Spain midfielder’s £51m release clause at Real Sociedad in the summer.

However, the transfer has yet to be sealed with fans getting more nervous with every passing week, particularly with suggestions that Real Madrid could swoop in at the 11th hour to sign a player who previously rejected a switch to the Premier League with Liverpool.

It was reported last week that Zubimendi was poised to undergo a medical at Arsenal, only for the player himself to upload photos to social media from a beach in San Sebastian.

The 26-year-old has now hinted that he could yet stay at Sociedad in a new interview with Radio Nacional de Espana ahead of Spain’s Nations League semi-final tie against France on Thursday night.

“Of course there are options, but it’s true that it seems like it’s going to be a different, long summer, and I don’t know how it will end,” Zubimendi said.

“I don’t think thinking about it right now is my priority.

“I’m here with the national team, which I think is already quite demanding, and if I have to say something, then I will.”

Heung-min Son could be on his way out of Tottenham this summer, reports claim.

The South Korean forward has been a mainstay of the Spurs attack for a decade now, scoring 173 goals in 454 total appearances across all competitions.

He was appointed club captain by Ange Postecoglou in the summer of 2023 following Hugo Lloris’ departure and has been so influential since, becoming the first Tottenham skipper to lift a major trophy since 2008 following the Europa League final in Bilbao last month.

However, Son turns 33 in July and is now entering the final 12 months of his contract in north London.

The Telegraph reports that he could well leave Tottenham this summer to mark the end of an era, with interest in his signature from Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in Europe.

Brentford have announced the signing of goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher from Liverpool on a five-year deal, writes Dom Smith.

Aleksandar Mitrovic set for European return

Former Fulham and Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is set to return to European football after spending two seasons with Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

He moved from West London to the Middle East in 2023 for a reported £50m, winning the Saudi Pro League in his debut campaign. He has scored 68 goals in 79 appearances.

The Serbia international could move for around £40m and is prepared to take a pay cut to facilitate a move.

West Ham and Everton are both thought to be interested in taking him on, though Fulham are not likely to look for a reunion.

Arsenal suffer blow in pursuit of Williams

Arsenal’s pursuit of Athletic Club winger Nico Williams has taken a hit today as Athletic Bilbao have reportedly opened contract negotiations to extend his stay at the Estadio San Mames.

Arsenal have tracked the player for 18 months, and he reportedly has a £50m release clause in his contract.

The new deal on offer will reportedly increase that release clause and raise the player’s salary to around £8.4m per season.

Luke Modric is close to confirming his next club.

The legendary Real Madrid midfielder will leave the Spanish capital this summer after 13 trophy-laden years, during which time he has won four La Liga titles and six Champions Leagues.

Italian news site Repubblica report the 39-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with AC Milan in what would be his first taste of Serie A football.

Milan struggled to an eighth-place finish in Serie A this season.

Chelsea 'relaxed' about Maignan

Chelsea are not pushing hard to sign Maignan, it has now emerged.

Their plan coming into the season had been to work with the existing crop of goalkeepers: Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic and Mike Penders.

Maignan’s contractual ambiguity, though, is seen as too good an opportunity to miss out on should he look to leave Milan. His contract expires after next season, and he is yet to sign an extension.

Jadon Sancho will return to Manchester United when his loan deal ends after Chelsea failed to agree personal terms with the winger.

His loan deal included an obligation to buy alongside a £5m break clause, which Chelsea are set to trigger. While the contract proved the ultimate stumbling block, reports claim that all parties feel the loan was productive and the player has been sent on his way ‘with well wishes’.

The Athletic reports that the player ‘has options’ in England and elsewhere, which he will now consider. He will not stay on at United.

Mbeumo's Newcastle move breaks down over wage demands

Bryan Mbeumo made headlines last night as The Athletic reported he had chosen Manchester United as his next club, but new reports have emerged as to why that is.

He is thought to be a boyhood United fan, but there was a more pragmatic reason for his decision to move to the Northwest over the Northeast, according to the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder.

Newcastle were also in talks with the player and had entered into talks with his representatives, but pulled out of the deal after being told Mbeumo wanted to quadruple his Brentford wage package, set at £45,000 per week.

That would have set his salary at £180,000 per week, a significant increase on the club’s next top earners in Anthony Gordon, Joelinton, and Bruno Guimaraes, thought to be on a weekly wage in the region of £150,000.

United, though, have reached an agreement with the player on personal terms and are expected to begin negotiations with Brentford shortly. for what they consider to be a statement signing.

Liverpool prep fresh Wirtz offer

Liverpool are refusing to give up in their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz.

Chelsea have officially welcomed Dario Essugo to the club.

The Blues agreed a double deal with Sporting CP back in March to sign the highly-rated midfielder as well as his teammate Geovany Quenda.

Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has had his say on Florian Wirtz’s decision to snub a move to the Allianz Arena in favour of a reported switch to Liverpool.

Brentford sign Romelle Donovan on permanent transfer

Brentford have signed 18-year-old attacker Romelle Donovan on a permanent deal from Birmingham, writes Dom Smith.

The move comes after a string of excellent performances on loan with the Bees’ B team since joining in January.

The England youth international has signed a contract until 2030 in west London with the option for a further year.

Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: "When Romelle arrived on loan in January, we knew he was a talented player with potential, but it’s fair to say that in his time with us he’s exceeded our expectations."

Thomas Frank is the top candidate to take over if Tottenham sack Ange Postecoglou, reports claim.

A decision on the Spurs boss’ future is expected this week as chairman Daniel Levy faces a massive call after a dire season in the Premier League was followed by a 17-year trophy drought finally ending in the Europa League final.

According to talkSPORT, Brentford boss Frank is the leading candidate to succeed Postecoglou if he does depart north London in the coming days, with talks already said to have been held.

Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola, Fulham’s Marco Silva and Crystal Palace’s FA Cup-winning head coach Oliver Glasner have also been linked with the Spurs job.

Arsenal hijack Tottenham move for Leroy Sane

Arsenal could hijack Tottenham’s move for Leroy Sane, according to new reports.

Spurs were said to be leading the race for the German winger this summer with his Bayern Munich contract set to expire at the end of June and no agreement yet reached over an extension.

But according to BILD chief Christian Falk’s Bayern Insider, Arsenal have now taken “concrete steps” in a bid to sign Sane themselves.

Bayern are believed to be eager to agree a new deal with the former Manchester City star that would see him remain at the Allianz Arena until 2028.

Chelsea in Gittens talks with Delap announcement close

Chelsea are in talks to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, writes Dom Smith.

The Blues considered a deal for the England Under-21 international back in January, and it is understood that he has been on their list of primary transfer targets for several months.

The Reading-born 20-year-old is expected to cost in the region of £50m if a deal goes through.

Chelsea are also close to announcing the signing of Gittens’ England U21 team-mate Liam Delap after triggering his £30m release clause following Ipswich’s relegation from the Premier League.
